专家简介：

    Ralf Jockers studied in Cologne and received a PhD in biotechnology and biochemistry from the University of Braunschweig, Germany. For postdoctoral training he joined the laboratory of Dr. AD Strosberg at Cochin Institute, Paris, where he worked on the regulation of ß-adrenergic receptors. Since 1998 he holds a permanent position at INSERM, France. He published more than 150 scientific papers and delivered more than 100 invited conferences. His research centers on the allosteric regulation and function of G protein-coupled receptors in relation to receptor variants and receptor-associated complexes. For the last ten years his group has been actively working on MT1 and MT2 melatonin receptors. He recently showed the involvement of multiple rare mutations of the MT2 receptors in type 2 diabetes development and the importance of MT1/MT2 heteromers in retinal physiology.

    He is Editor-in-Chief of « Frontiers in Cellular Endocrinology », the director of the GDR-3545 "The French GPCR Network – from physiology to drugs" of the CNRS and the Chair of NC-IUPHAR « Melatonin receptor » sub-committee.
